Meshfield is an independent reference for people who want to text without cell towers: hikers, preppers, event crews, radio tinkerers and neighbourhoods building their own mesh. It is not made by the Meshtastic project or by any device maker.
What you get here
- A device database with the specs that decide a purchase (chip, radio, GPS, screen, battery, antenna connector) and a dated price for each device.
- Tools that do the maths for you: a device finder, a range calculator and a battery calculator.
- Guides in English, German, Spanish and Polish, with the legal limits of each country.
How we work
We do not run a lab, and we never claim to have tested a device when we have not. Pages are compiled from makers' specifications, the official Meshtastic documentation, regulators' rules and documented measurements by the community. Every page lists its sources with the date each was checked. How the calculators work is on the methodology page.
Mistakes and updates
LoRa hardware changes fast: new board revisions, firmware releases and price changes every few weeks. Data files are re-checked regularly, and the date on each page shows the last check. If you spot an error, a broken link or a newer price, please tell us. Corrections are made openly with a new date on the page.
Money
The site is free. Some links to shops are affiliate links, which can earn a small commission. That never changes the order of the finder or the picks. Details: how we make money.
